As for the air melee attacks Daisy can spin around like Peach does with her limbs but instead uses randomized golf clubs, a tennis racket, frying pan, and maybe even a baseball bat for combo potential but this will do lesser damage than the ones you can pull off while standing on the ground.
Very subtle differences from Peach is what is meant for her character and both should be treated and respected equally for their contributions to the Mario franchise being that of the series Leading ladies. Peach and Daisy are both major characters that deserve respect.
Peach needing help doesn't make her a bad character because she often wants to help the bros out on adventures and it is hinted that she doesn't want them to have all the fun when it came to defeating bad guys which by all mean counters the argument of her being airhead that is not capable of doing anything. She is just as capable as Daisy when it comes to that as they are both considered to be heroines but sometimes need aid from others.
They are both Queens pun intended. If you make fun of Peach for depending on Mario that also means you throw shade at Luigi because they are very similar when it comes to that. When you make fun of Daisy you also insult Mario because both of them are loud and energetic characters that are action oriented and share similar renders with one another which is purposely done because within the Daisy and Peach partnership Daisy is the sassy one with upbeat and spunky nature which is seen within Mario.
Peach is a bit more calmer and reserved as stated that she is humble which makes her similar to Luigi. The points stated above also is a prime example of the problems Mario and Luigi deal with on a day to day basis aswell but people fail to realise that similar characters are a common trait in the series starting from the bros, the princesses, and lastly the bizzaro bros.
